Dan Korn is Senior Vice President of Programming for Discovery Networks UK. He leads a team responsible for programming strategy and supply across all 13 UK channels, including flagship Discovery Channel which celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2009. Last year, Dan and his team lined up their strongest ever slate, with 500 hours of new programming and 80 premiere series on Discovery Channel, as well as additional premiere series across its six additional factual channels which include Knowledge, Science, Turbo and Animal Planet. During 2009, the team successfully launched two channels including Discovery’s first UK Freeview channel.
Before joining Discovery, Dan was Managing Director and Executive Producer at 3BM Television. There his production credits included the Bafta-award winning Nuremberg: Goering’s Last Stand for Channel 4 Television, the multi-award-winning Age of Terror series (Discovery Channel), the Emmy Award-nominated Holocaust on Trial (Channel 4 and WGBH), and the RTS-nominated Boy With a Tumour for a Face (for Five and Discovery Health).
