Breaking the News
22 May 08 at 18:30
'Breaking the News', chaired by Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Presenter for Channel 4 News and hosted by Google at their headquarters in London.
Ever wondered how news is delivered to the public 24-hours a day?
Natasha Kaplinsky, Huw Edwards and Krishnan Guru-Murthy are some of the familiar faces who front the news, but there are many people involved in putting a bulletin together. Hear from those behind the headlines and find out what they do in the newsroom every morning, day and night to keep the public on the pulse of world and domestic events.
You will also have the unique opportunity to pitch your views and questions about news reporting to our panel, the people who run and make it. Today editors are driven by ratings, politicians hire spin-doctors and in recent years the integrity of news coverage has come into serious question. Our panellists are high profile professionals from the most respected and globally recognised news organisations in the world. Their unique insight and views will convey the pace, pressure and challenges faced in putting news bulletins together, discuss the impact of changing technology and contribute to the debate on the integrity of news reporting.
